Zoomlion awards sanitation workers for returning lost GH₵20,000 in the garbage.

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a significant subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), has honored Mr. Salifu Ibrahim, a Youth Employment Agency (YEA) beneficiary, for his outstanding demonstration of integrity and morality.
Thursday, January 23, 2025, was the day of the ceremony in Accra.
While performing his regular duties, Mr. Ibrahim, a sanitation worker in the Tamale metropolitan region, found GH₵20,000 in a garbage bag.
He shared the discovery with his coworkers, took the money home for safekeeping, and waited for the proper owner to come forward rather than keeping it himself.
When the owner came to their place of employment a few days later, Mr. Ibrahim gave the entire sum back.
Zoomlion Ghana Limited honored Mr. Ibrahim’s act of honesty by giving him a motorcycle, an undisclosed sum of Ghanaian cedis, and US dollars.
A JGC Board member, Dr. Ato Sarpong, commended Mr. Ibrahim for his unselfish deed.
People like Ibrahim who give large sums of money back to their owners are uncommon in today’s society.
His divine deed has improved Zoomlion and Jospong’s reputations all around the world.
Dr. Sarpong prayed that he would receive many times as much money back as Mr. Ibrahim had given him.
“We want to utilize Ibrahim as a model so that others might follow his morals and ethics.”
Haruna Suleiman, Zoomlion’s Northern Regional Public Jobs Coordinator, commended Mr. Ibrahim’s commitment and self-control.
Haruna Suleiman asserted, “He is a diligent worker who has been with us for eight years without any issues.”
Mr. Salifu Ibrahim sent his appreciation to Zoomlion and his manager.
“Even though I have never owned GH₵20,000, I considered the necessity of resetting Ghana collectively.
Ibrahim said, “I could not ruin my name by spending someone else’s money.”
Zoomlion provided Mr. Ibrahim with a first-time flight to Accra and lodging at an opulent hotel as part of the incentive package.
Zoomlion’s acknowledgment of Mr. Salifu Ibrahim shows the company’s dedication to its basic principles of godliness and people-focusedness, inspiring all Ghanaians to lead morally upright and accountable lives.
