Emmanuel Kotei, a defender for Asante Kotoko, had surgery to repair an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Before scheduling surgery, the club’s medical staff promptly provided the right back with early treatment after he sustained the injury during training last week.

After undergoing surgery on Wednesday, Emmanuel Kotei will start his recovery as soon as possible, even though he will miss the remainder of the season. The severity of the injury has prevented a timeframe for his return.

To replace the injured Kotei, the Porcupine Warriors signed defender Daniel Adrien Adjetey.

“We needed to respond in the market following Kotei’s regrettable ACL injury,” coach Prosper Ogum stated.

“With Daniel, we are bringing in more than simply a player—we are bringing in a competitor, quality, and experience.

“He will push Lord Amoah for that role, which is crucial for us going forward, in addition to bolstering our team. We do not doubt that he will contribute both offensively and defensively.

The Ghana Premier League’s second round kicks off on Sunday in Kumasi when Asante Kotoko hosts Karela United.
