Weta Senior High Technical School received GH₵50,000 from Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple, the CEO of the Tanko Foundation, as part of the school’s 15th-anniversary celebration.

This project demonstrates his commitment to improving educational opportunities and facilities in the Volta Region.

On the school’s grounds, the festive occasion drew together a wide range of attendees, including students, faculty, alumni, traditional leaders, and other dignitaries.

Since the donation will greatly aid the school’s efforts to upgrade buildings, improve learning settings, and support a range of academic and technical programs, it was received with gratitude and cheers.

Mr. Atokple emphasized the significance of leveling the playing field between rural and urban schools while expressing his dedication to education and youth empowerment. The donation, he said, is part of a larger initiative to make sure rural schools do not fall behind.

“Education is the cornerstone of a thriving community, and we need to make sure that rural schools have the resources they require to compete with their metropolitan counterparts,” he stated.

“This contribution is only the first step. To advance Weta Senior High Technical School and other local schools, I am determined to collaborate with other business sector stakeholders.

Assuring them of the Tanko Foundation’s ongoing support, he urged the students to seize the chances at their disposal and pursue excellence.

Founded to promote community development, agricultural modernization, and the empowerment of women and youth, the Tanko Foundation has been at the forefront of revolutionary projects in the Volta Region. The Foundation has impacted innumerable lives and given impoverished communities hope via its contributions to entrepreneurship, health, and education.

The Foundation’s overarching goal of promoting sustainable development through wise investments in education and skill development is in line with this most recent gesture toward Weta Senior High Technical School.

In addition to his charitable endeavors, Mr. Atokple is actively trying to expand the Volta Region’s growth prospects. He is now running for a seat on the Council of State as the representative for the Volta Region. He is known as Torgbui Nyaxordeakorla I of Anlo, a title bestowed upon him in appreciation of his commitment to improving the area.

Mr. Atokple said, “I see this role as a platform to champion our region’s interests and encourage more economic projects.”

“The Volta Region has a lot of potential, and we can make amazing strides if we have the correct representation.”

Mr. Atokple intends to use his position to push for more funding for infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and education if elected. He thinks that the key to realizing the region’s full potential is a solid collaboration between public and private organizations.
