Prosper Ogum calls Asante Kotoko’s close victory over Karela United a “good challenge”

Prosper Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has praised his team’s arduous 1-0 victory over Karela United as a crucial test of their tactical prowess.
Captain Justice Blay coolly converted a penalty kick in the second half to put Kotoko at the top of the league standings, giving the Porcupine Warriors the victory at Baba Yara Stadium.
Baba Yahaya’s fouling in the box, which allowed Kotoko to score, was the pivotal moment. Prosper Ogum acknowledged that his team had to overcome Karela’s physicality and deep defensive setup even if they were in possession.
“The opposition arrived with great strength and sat deep in their won half. They were really tough.” We made every effort to approach the ball, but they made it difficult for us to get through,” Ogum said after the game.
As they look to continue their dominance, the win puts Kotoko at 34 points after 18 games, preparing them for the league’s second round.
