Phase I of the Boankra Inland Port Project is scheduled to be finished and put into service by March 2025.

By the end of the first quarter of this year, contractors working on the Boankra Inland Port Project in the Ashanti Region want to have phase one of the inland port completed.
Building a storage facility, a security zone, roads, and the port terminal are all part of the project phase.
According to Dr. Justice Amo, CEO of Justmoh Construction Limited, the project will be finished and functioning by 2026.
He urged the current administration to provide more assistance to expedite the project’s completion in a media interview.
“Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has backed the initiative in addition to the government’s financial assistance. The Asantehene still values this project,” he stated.
To serve importers and exporters in the center and northern regions of the nation, the Ashanti Region’s Boankra Inland Port Project was started.
A significant conduit for the effective movement of transit traffic to and from nearby nations is another goal of the project.
Since the administration of John Agyekum Kufuor, the project has been redesigned.
On November 5, 2020, former President Nana Akufo-Addo cut sod for the port’s redevelopment.
When the project is finished, it is expected to strengthen Ghana’s standing as a key participant in the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
Nana Akufo-Addo stressed the project’s significance during the sod-cutting ceremony to guarantee Ghana receives the most benefits possible from the AfCFTA.
Dr. J.B. Koranteng Yorke, the project director for the Boankra Inland Project, emphasized the project’s significance in lowering traffic jams and collisions on the Accra-Kumasi route.
He disclosed that to overcome these issues, the team has created an interchange.
According to Justmoh Construction Limited’s project manager, Ing Jarra Siddique, the first phase of the project is presently 78% finished. Along with government agency offices, a fire station, a fuel station, and other offices, the team is working on the terminal.
Residents of Boankra and the surrounding settlements are thrilled with the project’s progress as Phase I draws to a close.
Communities are optimistic about the enhanced auxiliary economic opportunities that will result from the building activities, which have given local youth employment opportunities.
