Nana Yaw Amankwah discusses Asamoah Boateng Afriyie’s poor club performance.

Regarding Asamoah Boateng Afriyie’s underwhelming performance since joining the team, Hearts of Oak assistant coach Nana Yaw Amankwah has spoken out.
After joining the Phobians during the summer transfer window, the 27-year-old forward, who finished in double figures with Nations FC the previous season, has failed to score or record an assist in eleven Ghana Premier League games.
When the Phobians and Basake Holy Stars shared the spoils on matchday 18 of the domestic top flight, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie was on the field.
Both teams failed to score despite creating multiple chances to do so, and the game, which took place at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, finished in a thrilling goalless stalemate.
“What is going on with him is unknown to us. When given the chance on matchdays, he occasionally lets us down, but we know he can deliver,” he remarked.
Nana Yaw Amankwah, meantime, has pledged to assist the forward in finding his game again.
“In the upcoming games, we will try to help him find his form again,” he stated.
Eighteen games into the season, Hearts of Oak have thirty points, good for fifth place in the Ghana Premier League standings.
