Kwasi Asante, a seasoned defender, has signed a contract with Ghanaian Asante Kotoko.

On Wednesday, January 22, the team released an official statement announcing the versatile defender’s signing.

Following Kwasi Asante’s satisfactory completion of his physical, Asante Kotoko can report that the 29-year-old left-back has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract.

“The seasoned full-back, who has played for Mbabane Swallows in Eswatini, Simba FC in Tanzania, and Hafia Club of Guinea, offers intelligence and adaptability to the Porcupine Warriors.” Known for his versatility, he can play as a left-back, center-back, or even a left winger, providing the technical team with useful choices, according to Kotoko’s club statement.

Speaking on the new addition, Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum emphasized how crucial it was to bring in a backup left-back because of Patrick Asiedu’s injury.

He stated that he is certain the full-back will benefit his team.

Everyone is aware that since October of last year, we have only used one identifiable left-back, Patrick Asiedu, therefore it was imperative to bolster that position. Kwasi adds quality and adaptability to our team. Coach Ogum stated, as cited on the Asante Kotoko website, “His versatility gives depth to the team, and his wealth of experience will surely benefit us in important moments.”
