Striker Kwame Opoku’s performance against Bibiani GoldStars on Friday in the Ghana Premier League did not surprise Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The Porcupine Warriors defeated the Gye Nyame ladies 2-0 thanks to a goal from the 25-year-old in his second debut.
After playing for Asante Kotoko briefly in the 2020–21 season before relocating to Algeria, Opoku re-signed with the team during the current second transfer window.
After the game, Ogum remarked, “I am not surprised for Kwame Opoku since he has experience, has been here before, and has played in the league before.”
Since his arrival, he has been working with us daily and patiently awaiting the chance to finish the registration process.
“He has been with us for four weeks and has assimilated exceptionally well.”
With 27 points, Asante Kotoko is now three points behind league leaders Heart of Lions in second place in the Ghana Premier League standings.
