Herbert Mensah blames the Black Stars’ downfall on football administrators.

After the Black Stars’ underwhelming performances, Herbert Mensah, the former chairman of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has criticized football officials.

Herbert Mensah discussed the team’s inability to guarantee a position in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco in an interview with Joy News.

Ghana finished last in Group F with no wins in six games, marking the first time in 20 years that the country has not advanced to the championship.

While other countries like Niger and Sudan might not have players in elite leagues like the Bundesliga or La Liga, Mensah said that they exhibit a unified style of play and efficient systems.

“Even in Niger and Sudan, you would have seen that people are playing with a system that makes sense and in a coordinated approach, but you are not seeing stars at the top Bundesliga clubs, Premier League, or La Liga.

“What is it about our administrators who created a system and then dare to come up with explanations that no sane person would accept when they fail?”
