Former Asante Kotoko flop Emmanuel Keyekeh gets Tanzanian citizenship.

Less than a year after arriving in Tanzania, Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh was awarded Tanzanian citizenship, allowing him to play for the Taifa Stars, the country’s national side.
The Tanzania Immigration Department verified this in a statement that Senior Superintendent Paul Msele signed.
According to Tanzanian legislation, Emmanuel Keyekeh, a member of the Singida Black Stars, a top division team in Tanzania, and two other foreign-based athletes have fulfilled all the conditions for naturalization.
The other two are Muhamed Damaro Camara from Guinea and Josephat Arthur Bada from Ivory Coast.
“In compliance with sections 9 and 23 of the Tanzanian Citizenship Act, Chapter 357, the identified players applied for and were awarded citizenship,” the statement said.
The Immigration Department would like to notify the public that the aforementioned persons have become naturalized Tanzanian citizens.
Hussein Masanza, a spokesman for the Singida Black Stars, stated that although the team assisted the players during the application process, citizenship issues are outside of their purview.
As a football team, we are powerless to alter someone’s citizenship. The players complied with all legal requirements, and we honored their decision,” Masanza said.
Before his well-publicized transfer to Asante Kotoko, where he failed to make an impression, Keyekeh played for Karela United.
He later moved to Samartex, where he contributed to the Ghana Premier League victory for the team.
