Kotoko

Coach Prosper Ogum of Kotoko addresses the team’s poor goal-scoring record.

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the coach of Asante Kotoko, has determined that two factors mostly contribute to the Ghana Premier League’s poor goal-scoring record.

The league’s dearth of natural strikers and teams’ strong defenses are the primary causes of the poor scoring games, according to Dr. Ogum.

Dr. Ogum made these remarks following Kotoko’s fourth straight league triumph, a 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars.

Dr. Ogum acknowledged that there are not many natural goal scorers in the league, even though he praised Kwame Opoku, a striker for Kotoko.

“Goal scoring has been a problem in the league,” Dr. Ogum stated. “If you have guys that are naturally good at scoring goals, it can be simpler sometimes, but sadly, not all of the teams in the league have these players.”

Additionally, Dr. Ogum emphasized how the league’s clubs are strong defensively, making it challenging for opponents to score.

According to him, “The league is quite defensive in character; most of the teams can defend pretty well,” he continued. “It is quite difficult to score when you consider the sturdiness and compactness of the defensive structures of every team in the league.”
