According to a spokeswoman, former US President Bill Clinton was released from the hospital on Tuesday after receiving treatment for the flu.
Angel Ureña said on X, formerly Twitter, that “he and his family are extremely appreciative for the great treatment offered by the personnel at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and are touched by the warm messages and good wishes he received.”
After getting a temperature, Clinton was sent to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC, on Monday night for monitoring and testing.
The 78-year-old last spent six days in a California hospital in 2021 after contracting a blood illness.
It is also known that the 42nd president of the United States, who held the office from 1993 to 2001, had cardiac problems in the past.
When doctors discovered evidence of severe cardiac disease, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 at the age of 58. Ten years later, he complained of chest pains and had a blocked artery opened.
Since leaving office, Bill has been involved in several endeavors, including founding the Clinton Foundation, which later collaborated with the American Heart Association to create the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
The former president, who was well-known for his fondness for fatty meals, switched to veganism shortly after his second operation. In 2016, he told Politico, “If I had not switched to veganism, I might not be here today. It is fantastic.
As part of his efforts to support Vice-President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, Clinton traveled the nation this year.
He published his most recent book, Citizen: My Life After the White House, last month.
