Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the member of parliament for North Tongu, has expressed concern about the Agricultural Development Bank’s (ADB) board’s ratification of an electronic servicing arrangement worth $750,000.
In a social media post, the congressman described the midnight pact as “reckless and unpatriotic,” stating that it was signed approximately three days ago.
A section of the post stated, “Deep throat sources at ADB tell me they are under enormous political pressure to complete full payment by tomorrow, the 27th of December, 2024.”
Leading ADB insiders, he said, are surprised by the Board’s decision because, in addition to the contract bypassing the audit department, talks with the vendor, Virtual Security Africa, have not yet been finalized, especially because the main agreement is still in draft form.
“Despite a clear caution from the President-elect’s Transition Team a caution commensurate with what the NPP asked in 2016 the frenzied rush for midnight contracts and payments has reached uncontrollable proportions,” he continued.
The head of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) program revealed that he had intercepted a significant amount of internal memoranda on these questionable transactions.
He warned that from January 7, 2025, public officials who give in to illegal political pressure and make payments will be held accountable.
